Positive Healthy Changes

Its nearly January the time where exercise equipment and juice extractor sales go through the roof alongside resolutions to cutting back on alcohol and losing that extra weight!

Naturally here at Earth Conscious we are thinking about our own New Year Resolutions and changes we might like to make in 2017. Our focus is positive healthy changes for 2017 and here’s why.

Earth Conscious is primarily a green brand advocating for living a greener lifestyle and taking responsibility for our own health.  Our ideals are all things natural which are healthier for our bodies and of course the environment. Our Natural Deodorant was designed with both these ideals in mind.

Yet, here we are at the end of the year and I personally feel and look the most unfit I have ever been. This feels a bit of a contradiction to everything we have been promoting. Ironic how a business with a green and healthy ethos should play its part in leaving those working for it feeling anything but healthy!

It is one thing to promote green & health conscious mindfulness in our lives but taking care of ourselves by affording ourselves the time to exercise or the time to play and have fun are equally as important for the bigger picture. It’s not really the green or the healthy that’s the problem it’s the focus and time given to one area of life and not enough time and focus to other areas of our lives that is the problem.

It is so easy to let the work/life balance slip too far and these past few weeks have really highlighted that. We have already started by recognising the signs and acting on them but the intention is very much to carry through these healthy changes to 2017.

Personal Healthy New Year Resolutions.

  • Allocate more time to exercise. This is not a luxury, this is an essential in keeping a strong body and healthy mind.
  • Do not use alcohol to self medicate at the end of a hard day. It is all too easy to reach for that glass of wine at the end of a difficult day but just one glass causes sleep disruption and lack of motivation the following day.
  • Make time for fun. You know what all work and no play makes! Rest and relaxation helps allow the brain to switch off too!
  • Spend more quality time with those we love.

New Year Resolutions with the Earth Conscious mindset

  • Further reduce plastic waste
  • Further reduce animal product consumption

  • Shop more ethically with a focus on minimising fast fashion consumption.

  • Discover more eco friendly changes that are practical and easy to make.
