Recycle Week 2025: Why It Matters & How We Do Our Bit 🌱

Every year, Recycle Week brings renewed focus to one simple but powerful idea: rescue more of what can be recycled, reduce what can’t be, and help build a circular future. In 2025, Recycle Week runs from 22 to 28 September.

At Earth Conscious, we’re proud that our packaging is 100% recyclable. As a brand built on sustainability, we see Recycle Week as a chance not just to highlight what we do, but to empower you with the knowledge and inspiration to recycle better, make thoughtful choices, and reduce waste in everyday life.

The Recycling Challenge: It’s Not Always Clear

One of the biggest barriers to recycling is confusion. Nearly half of UK households remain uncertain whether specific items are recyclable, which leads to “wish-cycling” or missed opportunities.

Many everyday items  from foil trays and trigger sprays to deodorant tins are recyclable, yet too often they end up in general waste. The “Rescue Me! Recycle” campaign theme for Recycle Week spotlights exactly these forgotten things.

We want to join that effort: help you see that your Earth Conscious packaging isn’t just eco-friendly in theory, it works within the current kerbside recycling system.

How Our Packaging Supports Recycling

Here’s how we’ve made sure your Earth Conscious products are truly planet-friendly not just in spirit, but in practice:

  • Aluminium deodorant tins – Metals like aluminium are infinitely recyclable without loss of quality. You can put our tins straight into your kerbside recycling.

  • Cardboard push-up sticks / paperboard packaging – Light, low-impact to transport, and recyclable (check local council rules, as always).

  • Plastic-free containers – We deliberately avoid plastic in our primary packaging, so there’s less barrier to recycling or composting.

  • Design with reuse and value in mind – We encourage reusing tins (for small items, travel, etc) or giving them a second life before discarding them.

That said, packaging is just one part of the story. The real impact comes from how people dispose of it by rinsing, separating, and putting items in the correct bin.

Tips to Recycle Smarter During Recycle Week (and Beyond)

Let’s make Recycle Week 2025 the launchpad for better habits. Here’s how every one of us can do better:

  1. Rinse & clean before recycling – Even small food or product residue can contaminate batches of recycling

  2. Separate by material – If your council asks for aluminium separate from paper/card, do so

  3. Flatten or crush bulky items – Save space, make transport more efficient

  4. Rescue the “missed” items – Items like aerosol cans, foil trays, deodorant tins, and yoghurt pots often end up in residual waste. Give them a second chance.

  5. Repurpose first – Before recycling, ask: can I reuse this tin or container for something?

  6. Check local rules – Recycling allowable materials vary by council — always check your local authority’s guidance

We believe that sustainable beauty shouldn’t just be a buzzword — it should be built into every step, from ingredient to disposal.

A Small Change, Big Difference

Recycling more of the right things — items that people wrongly bin can shift the needle. For brands like ours, it means ensuring our packaging doesn’t become part of the problem. This Recycle Week, join us: rescue your recyclables, rethink your waste, and let’s build a cleaner future together.
